After flagship Android phones with Porsche Design and Lamborghini Edition OnePlus unveils the McLaren Edition for its fifth birthday. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. The SoC is supported by 10GB RAM and an Adreno 630 GPU. Aside from the processor and RAM upgrade, as well as paint job, the McLaren edition has no other improvements of the regular OP6T model.
The 6T McLaren edition features a large 6.41-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixel (402ppi). The display features adaptive mode, reading mode, night mode and lift up mode. Under the touch panel is a front-facing fingerprint sensor and the FHD+ display is additionally protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The OnePlus 5th anniversary phone packs the powerful high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with eight cores and a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz, paired with an Adreno 630 graphics unit. The mobile phone is available with a whopping 10 GB of RAM and 256GB on-board storage.
In the camera department, the OP6T McLaren edition sports a dual camera system on the back. The 16-megapixel main camera (IMX 519) comes with f/1.7 aperture and a 20-megapixel (IMX 376K) second shooter with f/1.7 aperture and PDAF. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and EIS, dual LED flash and AI features are also supported. The selfie camera sports a 16MP camera sensor (f/2.0) from Sony (IMX 371) and can be used to unlock the smartphone in lightning speed with facial recognition. Videos are recorded with up to 4K and 60 fps.
The OnePlus McLaren edition supports OnePlus’ new Warp Charge 30 wired charging to breath in new life when power is getting low. The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition packs a large battery with 3,700mAh capacity and is charged via USB Type-C port. Other features include gesture control, dual band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G), Bluetooth v5.0, Near Field Communication (NFC) to use Android Pay and full 4G global connectivity. For positioning GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo, as well as a compass, are available. The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition runs OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
