The Xiaomi Hongmi 5 was available with 2+16GB and 3+32GB so far. After turning out to be a best seller Xiaomi has now released a 4GB RAM version of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4X successor. The all new Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes with a trendy 18:9 bezel-less display and slightly increased measurements. The phone is powered by a 64bit Snapdragon 450 processor. In addition, the user can choose between the 2GB, 3GB or 4GB RAM and two different storage versions with 16GB or 32GB ROM. The main camera has a resolution of 12.0 megapixels and the front camera scores with a 5.0-megapixel camera sensor.
The 5.7 inch display of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 has HD+ resolution with 720 x 1440 pixels and is sharp and crisp. Therefore, the display has a pixel density of 282ppi and 450 nit brightness. Furthermore, it supports luminous screen, eye protection mode, color temperature adjustment and standard mode. Inside the metal unibody beats a Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 1.8GHz. The SoC is supported by the Adreno 506 GPU. The internal memory of 16GB or 32GB can be expanded by an additional 128 GB via microSD card using the separate SD card slot.
On the back is the main camera with a 12.0MP camera sensor (PDAF) from Sony with f/2.2 aperture and 1.25μm. On the front is a 5.0 megapixel camera for great selfies and face-to-face calls available. Videos can be recorded with up to 1080p and 30 fps.
