Its 3:2 aspect ratio if perfect to use it as your daily driver or to read and write. The display of the MateBook X Pro Linux Edition is also a multi-touch screen to scroll, zoom and select with the tip of your finger. Huawei also introduced a new three-finger swipe display gesture for screen capturing.
The premium ultrabook of the year is available with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 or Intel i5 and a NVIDIA GeFore MX250 with 2GB GDDR5. The power button doubles as a fingerprint reader and Bluetooth 4.2, Dolby Atmos, Quad Digital Microphones, and Quad Speakers are further features.
The Linux version of the Huawei MateBook X Pro has an all-metal unibody design and Huawei has refreshed it with an updated Whiskey Lake CPU, Huawei Share function and USB-C ports for charging and data transfer. The laptop has a FullView 3:2 13.9-inch touch screen with 3K resolution (3000 x 2000 pixel) and is covered additionally with anti-fingerprint coating and Corning Gorilla Glass. The touch screen can hit 450 nits of brightness and color accuracy is 100 percent sRGB.
Under the hood, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, 8GB of memory, and 512GB internal storage. For graphics the new model is available with an independent GeFore MX250 GPU.
On the left-hand side of the device are two USB-C ports, accompanied with a headphone jack. One of these ports supports the Thunderbolt 3 standard. The Matebook X Pro Linux Edition comes with two small speakers flanking the keyboard and another two along the left and right edges for an astonishing Dolby Atmos audio experience. In addition, the MateBook has a USB-A port, so you can plug in most accessories without the need of a dongle.
Since the Matebook X Pro has a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent there was no room to stick a standard webcam above the display, so Huawei came up with a clever solution to hide the camera in a pop-up key in the middle of the keyboard. The MateBook X Pro comes with Deepin Linux pre-installed.
