The second generation of Huawei's Matebook X Pro competes directly with the high-end laptops that Apple, Dell, Asus or Lenovo sell. It comes with an i5-8250U CPU, integrated UHD 620 graphics, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB NVMe SSD.
The laptop features a premium aluminum unibody design with diamond-cut edges. The MacBook Pro competitor has a FullView 3:2 13.9-inch touch screen with 3K resolution (3000 x 2000 pixel) and is covered additionally with anti-fingerprint coating and Corning Gorilla Glass. The display features a 91% screen-to-body ratio on an ultrathin bezel for top-notch views. Underneath, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, a 256GB solid state drive and Intel UHD Graphics 620.
The Matebook X Pro has two small speakers flank the keyboard and another two along the left and right edges for an astonishing audio experience. In addition, the MateBook has two USB-C ports (one of which supports Thunderbolt 3), plus a USB-A port, so you can plug in most accessories without needing a dongle. The power button has an integrated fingerprint scanner to unlock the laptop securely.
Since the Matebook X Pro has a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent there was no room to stick a standard webcam above the display, so Huawei came up with a clever solution to hide the camera in a pop-up key in the middle of the keyboard. Huawei is selling the MateBook X Pro with Microsoft Windows 10 Home.
