The Redmi 5 Plus is the big brother of the Xiaomi Redmi 5! The Redmi 5 Plus, the successor of the Redmi Note 4X, comes with a bigger screen with 5.99-inch bezel-less display in 18:9 format and slightly different specifications. It also comes in two different RAM and ROM versions with 3+32GB and 4+64GB. The phone is powered by a 64bit Snapdragon 625 processor and supports Dual Band Wi-Fi and an infrared blaster as well as a dual tone LED light. The FHD+ screen has a pixel density of 403ppi and supports sunshine mode.
The 5.99 inch display of the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, which is basically the Redmi Note 5, has FHD+ resolution with 1080 x 2160 pixels and is crystal clear and sharp with a brightness of 450 nit. In addition to the sunshine mode it also supports luminous screen, eye protection mode, color temperature adjustment and standard mode. The middle-class smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.0GHz and a powerful Adreno 506 GPU. The internal memory of 32GB or 64GB can be expanded via microSD card by an additional 128 GB.
On the back is the main camera with a 12.0MP camera sensor (PDAF) from Sony with f/2.2 aperture and 1.25μm. On the front is a 5.0-megapixel camera for great selfies and face-to-face calls available. Videos can be recorded with up to 1080p and 30 fps.
Further specifications of the Redmi 5 Plus are Dual SIM, Dual Band Wi-Fi, WiFi Direct, WiFi Display, Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth HID. In terms of high-speed 4G connectivity the modern smartphone supports all important 2G, 3G and 4G (FDD-LTE, TD-LTE) frequencies and bands. Thanks to the support of positioning systems like GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou you will also not get lost anymore. For all fans of virtual reality, a gyroscope is also on board. In terms of sensors, the Plus edition has also a hall sensor compared to the Redmi 5. The mobile runs with MIUI 9 operating system that is based on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The necessary power comes from a high dense battery with a capacity of 4.000mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
