Like the Huawei Mate X or Samsung Galaxy Fold the Nubia wearable Nubia Alpha comes with a 4-inch flexible OLED screen. The Nubia α is half smartphone, half smartwatch featuring phone functionality with an integrated eSIM. To operate the Nubia Alpha you can use three different ways: touch, air gestures, and the crowns on the side of the device. Other helpful and cool features include a maps app, Alipay QR code payments, voice control, GPS tracking, heart rate monitoring, a step counter, voice and video calling.
Instead of a circular screen, the Nubia Alpha sports a 4-inch flexible OLED screen in a rectangular shape with a 960 x 192-pixel resolution (245ppi). The flexible display wraps around your wrist with functions of a smartphone. The internal specifications are typical for a smartwatch. The Alpha is powered by a Snapdragon 2100 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
The body of the Alpha is 15mm thick and on the left and right of the screen is a large motion tracker and a 5-megapixel camera perfect for taking photos or video calls. In addition, on the right side is a couple of crowns which can be used to go back and forth in the interface. The Nubia α comes with a built-in 500mAh battery which will offer you a day or two of regular use.
The Nubia Alpha is available as Bluetooth-only version or with eSIM support. The rest of the device is made of stainless steel, with 18K gold plating on one version. Nubia developed its own operating system for the wearable with the unique feature of air controls, through which you can navigate menus using gestures.
